Hi Everyone,   running this code data class_modified; set sashelp.class; rename name = User; run; proc sql; create table work.test as select distinct User from work.class_modified; quit; I get as a result from the PROC SQL-Query the "wrong" result (I get my SAS-userid displayed rather than the names of the sashelp.class data set variable "name") becasue the Enterprise Guide parser "thinks" that I want to use the automatic variable "User" rather than the actual variable I renamed. Alread the syntax highlightning "tells" me this, as it displays the variable in blue rahter than as a black word:   When using a different procedure, e.g. PROC SORT, this does not happen (also the highlightning ist correct) : Why does this happen?       ... Hello Everyone,   does using the "Keep"-Option make sense at all, when quering a Database-Table? Let's assume, I have a Table named "Table1" which has 100 attributes/variables. However, I am only interested in the first variable/attribute ("var1"). The query I, therefore, use is this:   proc sql; select var1, count(*) as no_obs format = comma20. from DB2schema.Table1 (keep= var1) group by var1; quit; When using extended Messaging Options options dbidirectexec ; options sastrace=',,,ds' sastraceloc=saslog nostsuffix; options sql_ip_trace = ALL msglevel=i; I get among other information this relevant sentence:   SAS_SQL: Cannot handle dataset options. SAS_SQL: Unable to convert the query to a DBMS specific SQL statement due to an error. Hi everyone,   I keep getting an error message, when trying to execute a DB2-command via pass-through. The problem seems to be, that my macro variable is not being resolved during compilation/execution? I am pretty sure, the issue at hand is macro quoting. But I do not know what function (%STR(), %QUOTE(), %SUPERQ(), etc.) to use. Hello Everyone,   First of all, I know, this is not exactly a question regarding some programming issue, but I thought, the cracks among you, could help me anyways, since I did not know better where to ask the following questions:   I am trying to explain to my collegue how SAS is structured from a sales point of view, but also from a technical point of view.    For example, to the best of my knowledge, a "Bundle" is a set of "Modules" (STAT, ETS, IML, etc.) that SAS collects together in order to sell it to a customer. Each "Bundle" consits of  "Functions"/"Procedures". But then, what is the difference between a "Product" and a "Bundle" ?   When I go to www.sas.com, I am offered a list of "Products" and "Solutions" and "Technology". Also, e.g. SAS Customer Intelligence is a so-called "Solution Suite", consisting of different "Solutions"...   I think, you get the point: there is a myriad of terms that are somehow interrelated, but, at least to me, this is (partially) very confusing...   Generally spoken: is there an overview/taxonomy of all the different terms and their meaning/definiton that are described by  "bundle", "Product", "Solution", "Module", "Technology" , etc. ?   Thank's in advance, FK1                     ... Hi Everyone,   I tried accessing FRED data via SAS EG by allocating a libname, usinge the SASEFRED engine.   libname fred6 sasefred "/this/is/my/acllocation/path/FRED_DATA/" debug=on URL="http://api.stlouisfed.org/fred/sources?limit=10" APIKEY='here2841is122the129apikey122igot' ;   I get the error message:   "The SASEFRED engine cannot be found."   I have SAS9.3 M2 running with SAS/ETS 12.1   Is this engine only available in "younger" ETS-versions (14.1??)?   Cheers, FK ...
