If you have a SAS Viya installation you can already get started. Upload your own data set or download this dating data set from GitHub.
New to SAS but not a student...
- If you are new to SAS, sign up for a free SAS Viya trial.
- Start playing with the speed-dating data included in the trial, or upload your own data set.
For students...
- Create a SAS Profile with your academic email address.
- Go to SAS Skill Builder for Students and access SAS Viya for Learners under Free Software to start your creation.
- Read this community article, "Back to School Part 1: Using Your Own Data in SAS Viya," to upload your own data sets or to use the dating data set from GitHub.
How to post your creation
Time to create your visualization! For inspiration, type "valentine" in the SAS Support Community search bar to see what other SAS users have created in the past. @ChrisHemedinger highlighted a number of examples in a blog post. This greeting-card post by @FalkoSchulz is another nice example of what's possible.
- Register as a SAS Support Community member if you haven’t already.
- Sign in and navigate to the Valentine's Day Data Viz Challenge forum. In the right sidebar, you'll find resources to help you get started with SAS Visual Analytics.
- Click “Start A Topic” in the upper-right corner of the Valentine's Day Data Viz Challenge forum.
What's next?
On Thurs., Feb. 29, we'll invite SAS Support Community members to check "like" on their favorite visualizations. This isn't an official contest, but we'll do something fun to highlight some of the more popular submissions.
