SAS Explore is scheduled for September 27-29, 2022 (the 28th and 29th in EMEA and AP). What is SAS Explore? It's an event for SAS enthusiasts who want to connect with experts, engage with peers and explore technology. With over 100 sessions, 50 breakouts, and free training, we're very excited to host the event. So much so, we're dedicating September's SAS Bowl to it.
Many may ask, "Is SAS Explore a replacement for SAS Global Forum (SGF)?" We don't like the word replacement, but prefer the term transformation. The pandemic forced SAS to re-evaluate how we get together and share all-things SAS. In a given year, we'd have 6-8K people at SGF. In the past two years at our virtual events, we've had between 25-30K participants. Yes, we all miss the ability to gather in once place and talk shop; however, we're now able to reach so many more people in a virtual format. Who know what the future holds? For now let's Explore.
For the trivia event, we'll focus on SAS Explore, but we also want to embrace the past. We'll incorporate questions about the upcoming event and will also celebrate past Global Forums, Analytics Experiences, and regional conferences. What does the acronym SUGI mean to you? Here are a few resources to browse to get familiar with SAS Explore as well as a few to highlight past events we find interesting:
Please check back as we may add to this list as more resources are created for SAS Explore.
For those who may be new to the SAS Bowl, you can find game history and specifics in this Community memo. There you'll also find links to previous events, which include recordings.
Register for the event and receive an invite with game details and a Teams meeting link. On game day, Join the TEAMS meeting to play, and show off your SAS and worldly knowledge while competing for bragging rights and SAS Community game gear.
I am Iooking forward tom it!
Same here! Congrats @MarkusWeick in being the random draw prize winner at SAS Bowl XXII 🙌
Thanks @MichelleHomes, I have seen you so often in the Top 3.
As I mention in the post, SAS Explore Galore!, I'm hoping for a Roman Numerals question at SAS Bowl XXIII 😉🤞
Hi @MichelleHomes, you were subject of a question. Congratulations!
It made me LOL when I saw that! Laughed even more when I saw 2 people had selected that option.
Thanks @brucdens
@joeFurbee ... Thanks for the "Canadian content". I thought I heard you say that SUGI 29 was held in 2005 in Montreal, Canada. According to the event t-shirt I was wearing during the SAS Bowl, it was 2004 (and @ChrisHemedinger was right about the SUGI 29 swag). And @MichelleHomes there was a roman numerals question for you. See you all next month!
Roman numeral questions are always fun don’t you think @brucdens? However in my midnight daze when I first saw it I thought it was an algebraic question with X% then I realised XX%=20%. A good question @joeFurbee! I like how creative you are with the Roman numerals questions! 🤓😎
@brucdens That long-sleeve red shirt! Memorable conference for me because I got stuck, along with several colleagues, in Montreal for an extra day due to weather in the US. Next day we all turned up to the airport in those red shirts because it was the only clean item we had to wear.
So while there is a transition... I see this still available? Is this 100% cancelled or transitioned to something next year? https://conventioncalendar.com/orlando/SAS-Global-Forum--395662
