SAS Community Trivia - SAS Bowl XXII, The SAS Batting Lab

SAS Bowl XXII banner3.jpg

You’ve streamed it on YouTube, you’ve seen it featured on the Today Show, come across it on LinkedIn, and read about it on blogs.sas.com. I’ve had the pleasure of trying it out for myself. What is ‘it’?

Of course, I’m talking about the SAS Batting Lab. Even if you’re not a baseball fan, it’s hard not to get excited about using a game to teach kids (and everyone, really) about data science. We’re going to continue the conversation during SAS Bowl XXII, The SAS Batting Lab.

Game Details

  • The SAS Support Community trivia event, SAS Bowl XXII, The SAS Batting Lab is scheduled for Wednesday, August 17, at 10 AM ET.
  • Register for the event and receive an invite to a Microsoft Teams meeting and a calendar event.
  • On game day, join the Teams meeting and access the game here.

More on the SAS Batting Lab

To help kids gain the confidence they need to succeed, SAS built a literal plate for them to step up to with The Batting Lab.

Designed to combine their favorite team sport with our vast data experience, The Batting Lab was created for this exclusive group of kids to improve their understanding of data by improving their performance at bat.

I could go on and on, but let’s look at some of the available resources, so I can avoid repeating myself.

SAS Batting Lab Resources

Not from the US? Not a baseball fan? No worries, the questions for the game will come from the resources below and will focus on the program and technology, not the sport.

Full confession here: I’m a baseball and baseball stats nut, just read my LinkedIn article. I’ll try and stick to the script when writing questions.
