generalized linear model

Hi,
if the deviance of generalized linear model is 5.2 and I have degree of freedoms=11, how can I interpret this value regarding the model satisfactory. If the deviance/df= 1 what does this imply, what if this value is greater or lower than 1

See this note. Values well away from 1 indicate either lack of fit or over- or under-dispersion.
