I always get great ideas when I post here and hence the question.
I ran the following model:
proc mixed ;
class lot operator instrument run tube sample day;
model response= ;
random sample day lot tube operator instrument run;
run;

Now, I have been asked to include within-run and between-run variability in the table(where I represented all the variance estimates as a % of the total). Any thoughts? I tried a few things but not quite there yet.

Thanks

I am skeptical about your model. The model should depend on your experimental (or survey) design (layout). Just based on the variable names, I suspect that some effects should be nested within others.
