What are some methods you could use for analyzing the characteristics of multivariate data?

I tried to find out the methods that we use to analyze the characteristics of multivariate data, couldn't figure out from those search results. Any lead will be appreciated!

What questions do you want to answer about your data?

What is the data like? Survey questions? Instrument measurements? Measurements nominal, ordinal or interval?

 

Analyze is a pretty broad topic.
