Hello. I'm wondering if modeling the residual spatial structure for a binary response using these PROCs is "appropriate." Want to use Moran's I to test (under random assumption) for spatial autocorrelation in a binary response, modeled as a function of covariates + trend surface. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers!

I would not use GENMOD for data which has a spatial covariance structure. GENMOD does not have any spatial covariance structures to choose from.

However, you could use the GLIMMIX procedure to model the residual covariance structure. GLIMMIX fits models from the exponential family so it is appropriate for fitting a logistic regression for a binary response. Also, the GLIMMIX procedure does allow a full set of spatial covariance structures.

What is ANOVA?

ANOVA, or Analysis Of Variance, is used to compare the averages or means of two or more populations to better understand how they differ. Watch this tutorial for more.
