Domain statement in SUrvey procedures and Balanced repeated replication

Hello:

I am slowly learning about SAS survey procedures and had a question. If you are doing an analysis on a subset of your data, do you still need to use the domain statement if your variance estimation method is Balanced repeated replication?

Any advice or references to more fully explain the domain concept would be appreciated.
