Calcite | Level 5

Hi Everyone,

I am going to be using factor analysis and structural equation modeling two step procedure for an epidemiological study but I am unsure how Proc Calis deals with confounders. Particularly for the structural equation modeling stage. My main confounder for the study is age, should it be build into the model like in AMOS or is there a confounder step in the code like MPLUS?

Also, is there a way to check if confounders chosen are appropriate like there is for regression modeling?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know what AMOS or MPLUS is.

A confounding variable in PROC CALIS is not different than in any other modeling procedure. You build it into the model appropriately, and then you can determine if its effect is significant.

What is ANOVA?

ANOVA, or Analysis Of Variance, is used to compare the averages or means of two or more populations to better understand how they differ. Watch this tutorial for more.
