I'm wondering what means this cross on the box plot ?

Most likely the numeric mean of the values summarized.

If you create the graph you should include your code and the current ODS style used. The code just in case there is a scatter plot overlayed, in which case such a symbol could be just about anything.

The plus signs are the means for each group.
