Not so much a new idea as a request to fix an issue, which has been a problem for as long as I can remember.

From time to time I will receive a fault raised by one of the SAS users in our organisation, saying that when they are using Enterprise Guide and they try to import a file, or search for text, or do something else involving a dialogue, the dialogue doesn't appear on their screen. This will generally be a laptop user who sometimes uses a docking station to connect to multiple monitors and at other times the laptop's internal monitor only. The issue is that the dialogue is present, but is being displayed on a (currently) non-existent monitor. It's usually fairly easily resolved by using ALT-Space, M and then using the cursor keys to move the dialogue back onto a visible screen. However, it can be disconcerting for people at the least (and sometimes it can be difficult to find exactly where the dialogue has got to).

So, is there any way that the application could be changed to bring any dialogues up on the same monitor as the main Enterprise Guide window?

Thanks.

I frequently strike this problem too. It is also a problem with other SAS clients like SAS Management Console. You've got my vote.

Hi  Nigel_Pain

I entered this issue into our defects system.

Hopefully this will be something  R&D can address in a future release.

Thanks,

Bill

Agreed. It would be nice if the pop ups show up on the same monitor that the instance of SAS EG you are running. If you have two instances of EG running on eon one monitor and one on the other, the pop ups should stay on the monitory where the instance of EG is running.
