Hi All,

Is it possible to create a static report using WRS version 3.1 that has a cube source. The clients wants to prevent some users from drilling down the report. By if this is not possible in the WRS is it possible with the Portal 3.1?

Thanks,

Dear Sasrac,
If I am understanding you correctly, one say is to export the report to an excel file where it becomes static. You can also print it to a PDF file.

I am hoping someone else chimes in to offer other suggestions within v3.1.

Hi Jenn2,

The client wants to see the report in the portal to be static. But the problem is the source is an OLAP cube that is drillable. Is there a way that we can block certain user from drilling down the report?

Thanks,

SASRAC,

Can you deselect the 'drill down' option within the Information Map?
This will not allow anyone to drill down into the detail data.

However, this will not affect the drill through capabilities of OLAP Cross-Tabular view. I haven't come across a way to 'lock' the cross-table view from modification.

In the information map, you can disable permission to "Navigate (drill up/drill down and expand/collapse)" for each hierarchy. Select Properties and then click the Permissions tab. This would be in effect for all users, however.

Just a note that WRS 4.2 allows you to prevent specific users from expanding, drilling down, refreshing data, etc. by using the new Roles capabilities.
