A new Dimension or and additional hierarchie?

Hello,
we had the discussion about making a special KPI dimension or having it just as a hierarchie part of the existing KPI dimenion. What would be the advantages of making it a new dimension or the advantages of making it a hierarchie?

Levels can be shared within a dimension. So if certain members or whole levels would be needed again
we can practice re-use by making it "just" another hierarchy.
