SAS 9 to SAS Viya

We're moving from SAS 9 to Viya and looking for tips/hints for a successful migration from a users/programmers perspective.  Any suggestions to ease the transition? Any pitfalls to avoid?  We're working with several teams with IT and want to make sure they know users' needs.  Please offer your suggestions.
