Hi all

A couple of years ago I did a lot of research into the programming aspects in SAS Viya 3, including CAS sessions, libraries, engines.  Also, the use of CAS Actions and CAS Action sets.

I'm now looking at Viya 4 and wondering if there any major (or minor) differences when programming (specifically) in Viya 4.

Has the terminology changed ?  In Viya 3 there was reference to a SPRE - is this now referred to differently , and does it still exist ?

There's a lot of documentation out there, but it would be great if someone could point me to any differences I should be aware of.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Many thanks for your reply.

Am I correct in assuming these links will only show me new features of SAS Studio between Viya 3 and 4.

Will I be able to gain any new information about programming language changes between releases ?

For example, any new statements, procedures in Viya 4 ?

Cheers
Dave

Here's the "What's New" section of the Viya 4 programming documentation:

https://go.documentation.sas.com/doc/en/pgmsascdc/v_029/pgmsaswn/titlepage.htm

There are different sections for each Stable and LTS release within Viya 4 and the additions made in each.
