Hi all,

I would like to check if you have experienced moving Viya3.x SMP VM from one network to another such that the IP address is changed, is it the Viya system will be downed because Viya services are bound with IP address?

Any suggestion on how to update the IPs if possible? If it is a VM running on a cloud provider, any suggestions to use the minimum effort to make the Viya system work? We don't want to re-install the Viya3.x system.

Thank you for your sharing.

Best Regards,

Eddie

Hi Eddie -

Viya 3.5 only supports 'Dynamic IP Addresses' in following use cases [https://go.documentation.sas.com/doc/en/calcdc/3.5/dplyml0phy0lax/p165eaf7b81e3fn1xvjgbq1xv5vm.htm#p...]:
• DHCP is in use: a SAS Viya host IP address changes when a host system is restarted and is assigned a new IP address by DHCP
• A virtual machine hosts SAS Viya components: the host IP address changes when SAS Viya is installed on a VM that is restarted

Other cases are not support.  If you only want to change current IP address assigned to host on primary ethernet interface, then you will have to redeploy SAS Viya. You can use backup & restore to alternate deployment [https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/calcdc/3.5/calbr/p0lz0xslocbb9sn16w5uasdnco4g.htm].

Hope this helps.
