We've just upgraded at work, due to Flash going, from VA to VIYA 8.5.1.

Liking most of it so far amongst the tediousness of upgrading the few things that need changing. One beloved function in VA was the ability to import pages from other reports.

This would bring over the page, the dataset, any data manipulations and filters, etc. The only thing it would not bring over was source filters.

This was also used for importing a standard cover page, etc off a template.

We, several of us, are unable to find this function in VIYA. Has it gone, is it restricted to admins only (90%+ of our report authors are not admins) or in amongst the changes can we simply not find it?

Hi Noel88

I'm working at your site and came across your post through an internal email.

your post is about Viya 3.5 and VA 8.5.

Michelle's doc link refers to a later version of VA and if you look at the VA 8.5 doc, the Import a page feature is not there.

I've confirmed with tech support that the import a page feature is not available in VA 8.5. It has been re-introduced in

It seems the functionality is still there according to the documentation: Importing a Page from another Report

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Clicking on the three dots only gives us:

Rename page
Delete page
hide page
duplicate page
Print page.....  (greyed out)
Copy link ......  (greyed out)
Expand page controls
Expand all page controls

No choose an item option is displayed. Likewise holding down the + brings up the start from a page template option but no import pages from report option.instructions.JPG

It appears your profile may not have access to this feature due to the group capabilities or rules applied. I'd ask your SAS Viya administrator to check.

You'll want to ask them to enable the Import Report feature for your profile by checking the group membership and any custom groups your platform may have.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Thanks I've raised this with IT and proffered your solution. They are going back to vendor as some still insist the functionality simply doesn't exist any more.

Thanks for update. Hopefully we will upgrade sooner rather than later. Was doing things yesterday and it is a big productivity loss having to reverse engineer what was done previously in a report to get consistency. Importing was a well used function.
