Hi Community,

I'm trying to connect to Hadoop Hive using a new connection, but I encountered an error.

The connection to the data source driver failed.

Client unable to establish connection. System error: Connection refused
Function failed.
The action stopped due to errors.

If anyone has experienced a similar problem, could you please help me resolve this issue?

Hi,

I agree, you might need SAS Technical Support for this. The only thing I can suggest for now:

- Do have your admins to check if the requirements are properly configured: https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/itopscdc/v_057/itopssr/p03lkog7sche30n16nz48rhqe2ka.htm

- when they are 100% they are properly set, they can a) chech the driver connection without SAS and b) check the logs in the pods

If you haven't done so already Tech Support is your best way to progress this. You can open a track online here: https://service.sas.com/csm

Database connection setup is tricky and sometimes requires a lot of troubleshooting.

Thank you for your replies. I forgot to add an update: the problem was that the Hive driver was down, and SAS Viya was unable to connect to it because of that.

Based on my experience in similar scenarios, the first thing I would do is to check if there is any Firewall rule that is blocking the connection.
