java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

Hi all,

We have Viya v3.4 with VA v8.3.  When opening a map, we receive the message "Unable to retrieve region geometries".

I checked the maps log file and see the following error:

2019-05-09 08:46:00.800 ERROR 19723 --- [o-auto-1-exec-7] com.sas.commons.rest.ExceptionLog : dkpnh0(6da12f76) [09f3aa3ad9c5e782] org.springframework.web.util.NestedServletException: Handler dispatch failed; nested exception is java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I know I need to change a java setting but not sure which one.

Any help is appreciated.

In the SAS 9 / VA7.x world this error was typically related to VA audit being enabled constantly adding audit records to table(s) but without any archiving rules and scheduled jobs to archive records. I don't know if that is the case in SAS VA 8.x

In VA7.x this issue is typically remedied by adjusting parameters: Xmx, Xms, PermSize, and MaxPermSize.
