Hi!

My SAS license expired about two weeks ago. And since then I have received very poor help from SAS support team.

We received a new temporary license and I followed the instructions and completed the renewal of the license. I stopped all the services. And with some help from SAS Support, I Deployed my SAS installation.

I restarted the server and all my SAS services are running including the WebAppServer. They said you should wait a while before web app is up and you can see the server log to see if it has succeeded.

I check the last line on the server.log file located in E:\sas\config\Lev1\Web\WebAppServer\SASServer1_1\logs

Last entry is:

2016-05-12 10:14:41,701 INFO  (WrapperSimpleAppMain) [org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina] Server startup in 444371 ms

But I am unable to open SAS Visual Analytics Hub at the location written in

..\SAS\Config\Lev1\Documents\ and in the file Instructions.html

Could I please get some help here?

Hi @pedrammobedi, it looks like SAS Tech Support helped you to solve this.  It seems you had a port conflict with IIS (port 80).  It is possible to change the ports needed by the SAS server, but it can be complicated.  It's easier to disable the IIS server if you don't need it.

The following Microsoft note provides you with the information needed:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj635851(v=ws.11).aspx

Once that's resolved and you restart, it does take several minutes for all services to start and the web site to respond (as @Kalind_Patel said).

Hi, when you applied the license, did you applied the license to:

- SAS Base with the Renew SAS software program?

- SAS Metadata, with the SAS Deployment Manager?

If the answer to any is no, then you will have your answer 🙂

Besides, that:

- Do you have SASServer1_1 only? or also SASServer2_1 and SASServer12_1?

If the answer is yes to the first one, then you will need to ensure that the SAS Visual Analytics applications have been deployed succesfully, and check the logs of the SAS Visual Analytics applications.

If the answer is yes to the second one, do you have all started? Also, you will need to focus on the SASServer12_1 Logs, no on the SASServer1_1. Still, you will need to check the logs of the SAS VA apps.

I hope this can help a bit!

SAS VA 7.3 generally take 7-10 mins to start after all services are started, so please wait for 7-10 mins after you restart all the services, and try to access that link.

That is true. The problem was that port 80 was occupied by IIS. SO I disabled IIS and let Apache Tomcat take over it. So thanks for the answer. By the way, how do you know I received support from SAS?
