Hello,

The users of my VA server are having problems when using a VPN connection. Everything works up until they try to open a report. There they get the normal loading screen but it never stops (these users use the modern view). The users who use the classic view dont have a problem when using VPN.

- On the local network no one has any problems using VA

- I have found no records in the logs about the problem)

- Switching between VPN and the local network alot of times fixed the problem for the used account. However I dont plan to fix this by logging in on every single account.

Did anyone experience the same problem with VPN or is this a common problem with the modern version (HTML5)?

Apparently this problem was accidently solved while doing some network tests. We still don’t know what the specific cause was.

More recently we had something similar, reports not loading and the three loading dots remain instead of the data loading in. The cause there were special characters in the data of a report. The character: Á

This sounds like a problem best handled by SAS Tech Support as I suspect there could be troubleshooting and monitoring involved.

Hi, Jensy
We have the same problem, the only different part is that it was not using VPN connection but through another domain.

It also happened while using AMO and EG.
We think it was not caused by server but still check the logs from middle-tier servers and server-tier servers, and no errors were found, as expected.
We also asked SAS Tech Support but the issue still remains open.

If you have the answer please post it so it may help us.

Thanks in advance.

I found the following problem note which describes the same problems:

http://support.sas.com/kb/57/733.html

However our network specialist doubts this could be the problem and our server administrator doesn't want to install the extensive hotfix without knowing for sure if this is the solution. (I totally agree with him). Also the use of the flash version is not permitted here so we cant switch to it.

I promise il post it here if I get a confirmation or any news.

Thanks for you post, Jensy

Our problem has been solved, maybe, by increasing the server's MEMSIZE and CPUCOUNT system option.

I'm not sure if this fits your situation, hope this helps.
