VA crosstab display > 40.000 rows

I got the following issue:

Some business users use some filters to get data, sometimes they request more then 40.000 rows. How can I export, visualize these rows?

I have found that in exploration mode the limit can be set higher, or stored processes can be used. I want to make sure this is the only way?
