I was wondering if anyone has had success using alerts in SAS VA report designer

I have an alert that is based off a gauge in a SAS VA report. The gauges uses variable X (interval variable) and is divided by a categorical variable that we'll call Y.

I want my alert to send me notifications whenever X is above a certain value. However, it does not seem to work, even though I can see that X is above the value for some of the categories.

Is it  possible that using the categorical variable is messing things up?

I think I found the solution to my own problem

In the report designer, under preferences/General/Alert notification:

Mine was set to 'Use the system default for alert notifications'. I changed it to 'Send email messages' and after that I started to receive notifications from my alert
