Dear Team,

I am a regualr visual analytics user. VA 7.3 has offer a functionality to load all the data into dashboard to create a dashboard. It does not have a mechanism where we can load data based on some user actions.

I heard somewhere that SAS Visual Analytics on SAS Viya offer such a functionality. I would like to understand more details around this. Can you some provide some material or help me with an example?

Best,

AK

Are you asking about a report that will provide usage information by application, user, and object? If so, that information is in the Administrator Overivew report, which is available beginning with release 7.2. You must enable auditing to load the information used in this report. See this video to get started:

Thanks for your response.

I am actually looking to build a dashboard using a data set. But I do not want to load the full data set. My thought process is that, I will create a drop down in the dashboard and when I select an item in the drop down, I would like the dataset for the selected items is loaded into VA dashabord and all the metrics are refreshed.

This would enable me to handle any data limitations & sorts out any access related issues.

Please let me know if you still need more details around this.

Best,

AK

Hi AK,

SAS Visual Analytics 8.1 (on SAS Viya) has many options for creating drop-down menus as well as other control objects that can give users a view of subsetted data. I would recommend taking a look at some of the (free) online tutorials here: https://support.sas.com/training/tutorial/viyava/ - scroll down to the "SAS Visual Analytics 8.1 on SAS Viya" section. Is there anything particular that you can't figure out how to do? Let us know and we're happy to help.

Thanks!
