Hi,
We've just moved to VA 7.5 and with the removal of Explorer Mode, we have some users who had reports in that complaining that when they export their crosstabs, it doesn't stay in a pivot format but just lists out the data.
Is there anyway to get the crosstab to stay in the same format, or is it something that users are just going to have to live with?
THanks,
The only option to retain the crosstab format is to open the table directly in Microsoft Excel using the SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office, assuming the users have that available..

SAS Visual Analytics 2020.1 (December 2020) on Viya 4 added the ability to maintain the format of your crosstab when exporting to an Excel workbook. When you choose Excel workbook from the Export right-mouse context menu on a crosstab in either view or design mode, you'll get the results in Excel where the layout/orientation of the data items is maintained. Your drill or expand state and formatting are preserved too, and you'll see the filter context displayed just above the formatted crosstab in Excel.
@RickStyll_SAS we have SAS VA 7.5(OS: windows) and we are considering an upgrade to sas viya(Windows). Is this also available for the windows platform already?
Hi @cdw90nl,
Yes, the feature of exporting from SAS Visual Analytics to an Excel workbook has been available starting in the 2020.1.1 stable release (in December 2020) for SAS Viya. If you prefer a long-term support release for SAS Viya, the feature is available in 2021.1 (May 2021). Here's the What's New documentation for 2021.1: here: https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/vacdc/v_008/vawn/p0inasrahy7vwkn1269nd92dp1r6.htm.
