There is a new user in the company who has gained access to SAS VA. She can log in to SAS VA but is unable to see SAS Folders.

When I check in SAS Management Console, she seems to have the required rights:

She also has access to the SAS Server machine (Run on Windows) and all SAS Home folders.

She is, as seen in the above picture, a memeber of SAS Administrators group.

When I look at the Authorization properties of SAS Folders In VA, I see that SAS Adminstrators have the right to Administer the SAS Folders folder.

Another thing I have checked is SAS Folder's Authorization properties in SAS Management Console and SAS Administrators seem to have access there as well.

But still, the new user sees an empty place when she clicks on Browse on her SAS VA.

Hi,

normally that should not be the case, but there is one service that might have a hiccup over there. I still consider the webbrowser might have a security issue.

I would suggest reviewing the troubleshooting steps beginning on page 6 in

Integrating Search Interface to SAS® Content 3.5

Reason: the Search Interface to SAS Content is the responsible of feeding the Browse functionality on VA.

SOme hints:

- to enable the Web Interface of SAS Information Retrieval Studio, read Start the Indexing Server http://support.sas.com/kb/54/579.html

HI,

did your user tried different web browsers? Did you restarted the SAS services since you registered the new user?

Anyhow, there should be error messages somewhere in the logs, found any?

Hi! Should one restart SAS Services when there is a new user?

She was using Microsoft Edge which is apparently not friends with SAS. Thank you!

Indeed, Edge is not "close-friend" with SAS yet, but I feel confident it will be when web apps will be 100% HTML5, soon.

Glad to know that question is solved!
