Are you switching from non-distributed to distributed or changing the number of servers in moving from Windows to Linux? If so then the Linux installation should be treated more as a new install and migration is limited to moving your VA data and metadata.

The Installation and Configuration Guide at http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/va/index.html includes information about upgrading and migrating.
