Manuals for Shared datasets in Visual Analytics Full Access Demo

Hi all,

I've worked with Visual Analytics demo on sas.com . This is wonderful ! After working with the entry example about Toy Company, I also explore other shared data sets. The names of these data sets and  related columns will help me to understand the business scenario behind them.  But I'm really interested in knowing more about them. Are there any documentations about these data sets?

As you have discovered the SAS Visual Analytics micro site has a page containing videos and a quick start guide SAS Visual Analytics Full Demo | SAS

There is a lot of richness with the various visualizations and data items and the Quick Start Guide may help with getting familiar with the interface. At the end of the guide there is an Insight Toys Company data dictionary that you may find valuable.

Thank you for response.

I'm searching for advanced materials. I can't find any SAS books in SAS store about Visual Analytics except their valuable manuals. I think SAS VA is not like any other dashboards. I read a lot of books about making dashboards, but VA's analytics solutions are wonderful. What do you suggest for this situations?

Hi Mohammad,

Yes you are correct that there aren't any specific SAS Visual Analytics books around yet 🙂 however the principles of building dashboards and visualization are the same. has done some great presentations on dashboards and visualizations such as http://www.allanalytics.com/author.asp?section_id=1411&doc_id=269523 where she has a number of references you may find useful. Also she shares a number of tips on her blog at http://www.bi-notes.com
