Hi, I'm trying to create a hierarchical Network diagram in VA 8.3. In VA /.x you could use a hierarchy either prebuilt or on the fly. However in VA 8.3 it asks for a level variable when trying to build a hierarchical Network. Can somebody please direct me  to how I set a level variable?

Hi,

The levels-role in network analysis requires a hierarchy. There are many ways creating a hierarchy - the easiest is probably selecting two or more data items in the data panel and right mouse click -> create hierarchy. You can't add individual data items anymore as you were able to in VA 7.x - only hierarchies.

Hope this helps. Regards, Falko

Thanks Falco. I tried creating a hierarchy the first time. However I created the hierarchy after I had added the Network Analyses and chosen Hierarchical. After your post I created the Hiearchy before adding the Network diagram and then i worked. Maybe a bug.

The Levels name is a bit confusing
