Hi,

Good day!

Anyone here know how to remove the last tie value in rank SAS VA? For example, Top 5 (see below sample data). User want to exclude the ties in TOP5, so we unticked the "all ties" option so our expectations was "F" will be removed but instead of F it was C.

Sample Data:

Name Count

A 4

B 4

C 2

D 2

E 2

F 2

Expectations: Top 5

Name Count

A 4

B 4

C 2

D 2

E 2

Reality (Result): Top 5

Name Count

A 4

B 4

D 2

E 2

F 2

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Carrot17

Hi Carrot17,
you can use below code for selecting top 5 observations.

data resultdata ;
set inputdata (obs=5);
run;

Thanks

Hi @Carrot17,

sorry for the late reply....

In my knowledge there is no workaround for this in SAS VA.

In simple form Tie option will work based on Alphabetical order (i.e., if  you un-check the TIE for TOP Level it will remove/hide C, in the same way if  you un-check the TIE for Bottom Level it will remove/hide B. )

Ex:

Actual Data:

Name                                       Count

A                                                   4

B                                                   4

C                                                   2

D                                                   2

E                                                   2

F                                                   2

For Top 5:

Name                                       Count

A                                                   4

B                                                   4

D                                                   2

E                                                   2

F                                                   2

For Bottom 5:

A                                                   4

C                                                   2

D                                                   2

E                                                   2

F                                                   2

Thanks,

Teja Surapaneni
