Hi,
We want to hide the name of the server in the URL where we are accessing the SAS UI.
Kindly suggest me if we need to follow any steps.
ex: http://<servername>/SASVisualAnalyticsHub/
The browser needs the servername for access.
Your demand would be the equivalent of "Go somewhere, but I won't tell you where".
Hi,
Is there anyway to link to any other domain or can we give alias name for that.
for ex: www.mydomain.com etc
You could do that via DNS, but I would strongly, repeat strongly, repeat STRONGLY advise against it. You would have to change ALL your references to the servename in SAS metadata.
It would be easier to re-install SAS on another server with the wanted name, IMHO.
What is the reason for this, pardon me, very silly idea?
We actually had a similar requirement, using the server name as the URL was deemed very bad practice security wise by our IT dept.
