Hi

We're trying to setup external links to specific sections to our report.  We have found using the url parameter section= will let us link directly to a section by adding it to the URL.  The problem is that we have not found an easy way to get that id we need to use in the link.  We find it now by going to the section and clicking to email the report in the tab we want and can then find the id in that link that is generated.  We know there has to be an easier way but we cannot find it currently and would love some help.  We are on version 7.4 but if you could tell us how to do in any version we hope it would be a similar process.

Here's an example of the section value to get to one section of our report: &section=vi2158

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

Hi dakuwan,

The only way to see the ID for the section is by emailing the section and inspecting the generated URL, as you mentioned.

Thanks Rick

That's too bad, I was hoping for a quicker method but at least we have a way that works.

Thanks again

Wanted to add, in case anyone else is looking for how to do this, that you have to switch to classic view, log out, then log back in, then go to the report and click email to see the full link with the id on the end.  If you do it from the new HTML5 version the link doesnt seem to have it.  Also i had issues getting the email link to come up in anything other than IE.

Just an FYI in case someone runs into a similar need.
