In SAS Viya (for Learners), in Explore and Visualize Data, how do you make the Aggregation method for a numerical variable specific to a single chart? For instance, if I use “Average” as the aggregation for a numerical value for a specific chart, it shows the average value of that variable on all of the charts in the complete report.

Similarly, how do you make the filters specific to a single chart or all of the charts.

Pre-Viya version of SAS VA had those options available. I am having hard time finding them in Viya version.

Thanks,

Hi!

The easiest might just do duplicate the variable in the data pane and change the aggregation. Maybe name the variables so the aggregation is clear when using the variable:

Variable_sum

variable_avg

variable_max

...

...

At least you are not limited to what options each object has 🙂

Thank you for the reply. I think it is an okay remediation. I still wish we would have the option of defining Aggregation type of a variable at the chart level.
