In VA 6.3 Explorer it is possible to export the shown chart to PNG.

How can I export charts from Designer and Viewer?

Hi Allan_dk,

Currently the designer and viewer do not support saving charts as PNG files.  One alternative that you can try is first printing the report to a PDF file by selecting File->Print (Pre Production).  You can then use a product such as Adobe Acrobat Pro to convert the PDF to a PNG file.

We still have SAS VA 6.3 in our shop and we were not able to perform print (Pre-Production),

While printing VA was throwing error about PrintBird stored process

“HTTP Status 500... Error encountered executing stored process”, later SAS support/Admin was able to resolve this issue making the few security access in my our side.

After resolving that, it was found that report is not generating any data, ie print just produce blank PDF and  SAS support response on this is that

this problem exists in UNIX environment, and entire printing model was scrapped and rewritten from scratch and ver 7.1 no longer uses the PrintBird stored process !!

So upgrade is the only option left for us.

Anybody using 6.3 has any workaround to do print other than taking screenshots?

Thanks..

Hi Ninan,

We have indeed moved away from using a stored process to print reports.  Upgrading may be your best option.

Thanks

Scott
