Can we define format based on condition in Cross tabulate, For Example one column have some numeric value and based on condition I want to show Char value in cross tab report

Numeric value                   char format I want to display on report

1001                                    USD

1002                                    INR

1003                                    AED

1004                                    HKD

I hope you understand my query. I want to display currency type but I am not able to drop-drag the char column (value is USD,INR.. etc). So I want to use a numeric value and based on numeric value I want to display the currency type in cross report.

Hi There,

It would be possible to do this with some data preparation outside of SAS Visual Analytics using a SAS user defined format (picture format). This paper may give you some ideas http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi31/243-31.pdf and the SAS documentation, http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/proc/68954/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1xidhqypi0fnwn1if8op...

There have been a few discussions on using user-defined formats in SAS Visual Analytics in this community that you may also find useful at:

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Hi Michelle ,

I want to apologize for my mistake (Regarding my email Id) and thanks for your replay 🙂 . Please remove my E-mail id from my last post.

I had Post my query regarding Cross table report (Subject: - “can we use different column combination in hierarchy under cross tabulate report in SAS VA”) . I am still not able to resolve that part.

Could you please suggest me some workaround?

Hi,

I am unable to remove your email address, only you can (by editing your post) or a SAS community administrator.

With regards to displaying multiple formats in a cross table report, I suggest the use of a user-defined picture format as I mentioned earlier. SAS programming skills and data preparation would be needed outside of SAS Visual Analytics.

Kind Regards,

Michelle
