Hello everyone:
I'm planning to produce some information about the various data viz objects in SAS VA - but I would like to show some fun (and useful) examples of the objects.
What are some good examples of the "advanced" data objects - scatter plots, treemaps, decision trees, bubble plots, or sankey diagrams (etc!!!!!)? I am saying advanced since it seems lines, bar, and pie charts are used more frequently and possibly easier to understand.
I would love to see some of the ideas from my colleagues or ones they have used. Any back story you have would be appreciated - what you wanted to show and how this worked.
Hi Tricia,
This may sound Disturbing and Concerning, but have a look at what is possible in
- Tableau software (https://public.tableau.com/s/gallery): Check out: Greatest Hits, and Viz of the Day.
- D3js (https://d3js.org/)
- Robert Alison SAS Graph Examples (http://www.robslink.com/SAS/)
- Other Visualization Sites...
Some of the examples above could be replicated using the Custom Graph Builder in SAS VA 😉
Just thoughts,
Ahmed
Thanks Ahmed - that is a clever idea for the custom graph builder!
I'm planning to document some of the examples for a paper (and possibly a book later) - so I'm specifically looking for uses of bubble plots, scatter plots, and the like. I thought it might be easier to find real world examples from the user community. If I use someone's example - I'll certainly give him/her credit.
