Hello everyone
We configured a DNS (something.something.loc) which then resolves to the serverhostname.
If we access SAS with the DNS (e.g. http://something.something.loc/SASVisualAnalyticsHub), the URL changes back to the serverhostname (http://serverhostname/SASVisualAnalyticsHub).
I ran the Update Hostname Utility replacing the serverhostname with our DNS something.something.loc, which, obviously, caused a lot of problems afterwards, because something.something.loc is not the server's hostname. But the URL didn't change back to serverhostname now.
I ran the Update Hostname Utility again to change something.something.loc back to the serverhostname so everything works again.
So, where exactly do I have to replace the serverhostname with our DNS (something.something.loc) in order to keep the URL at something.something.loc instead of the serverhostname?
(In both cases, accessing SAS worked without any problems)
Kind regards
Martin
Hello @infmja,
you have several options to achieve this change.
Once you do this change, and depending ont he change you do, you might need to update some additional configurations, specially scripts, re-schedule data queries, etc.
Hope it helps. Please let us know how it goes.
Kind regards,
Juan
So, I tried changing the FQDN only this time.
Everything was still working fine, but the DNS changed always back to the hostname when accessing SAS with the DNS (e.g. http://something.something.loc/SASVisualAnalyticsHub).
If I type the DNS only, without "SASVisualAnalyticsHub" behind the last slash, it opens up the "Congratulations! You have successfully set up SAS Web Server" page and keeps the DNS in the URL (which would be the correct behaviour).
Do you have any ideas how I can change the configuration so it always keeps the DNS?
Hello @infmja,
this is happening because the SAS Metadata and some config files (xml files) are responsible of managing the re-directions.
The link I posted above should solve your problem, but focusing even more:
If you still have trouble, I strongly recommend to get assistance from an experience SAS installation consultant to get the problem solved for you.
I applied the configuration from your links.
Now I can access /SASVisualAnalyticsHub and the DNS stays, but as soon as I want to access something like the Report Viewer, there is the following error message: HTTP401 Ticket does not match the supplied service
What is causing the error message? How can I fix it?
