In SAS VA is there any way to make a search function in the section area without having it in the Section Prompt or Report Prompt area?  I was able to do it in those areas using prompts; however, I am now trying to do it in the main section.  Any help is much appreciated!

Yes. Just add a Text Input control object to your main report area and assign the text to a Parameter you have created in your data source. Then in the report object you want searched create an Advanced Filter that equals the Parameter.

Type your search text into the Text Input control and this will apply that filter to your report object.
