Planning the SESUG 2022: Early July Updates

Last’s year’s Think and Drink at the SESUG Virtual Conference was a blast and we were able to hear from our community about ideas, suggestion, and improvements that we are implementing into this year’s conference.  We can’t wait for you to experience the changes you suggested:

• Try-out stations: Have you ever wondered whether specific SAS software could be good for your business, but you aren’t sure how it works? SAS will be hosting try-out stations in the exhibit area so that attendees can try SAS software such as JMP, Analytics Pro and VIYA. Plans are to provide scripts and data to get you started. SAS Tech Support will be there to answer your questions.
• Pre-recorded sessions: For SESUG 2022, we are asking a limited number of presenters to also have a pre-recorded video presentation.  Attendees that are in another session at that time can then also watch these presentations. These will be available during the conference only, and only to registered attendees.
• Discussion sessions: For SESUG 2022, we have a room set aside for a small number of people to have topical discussions related to SAS, analytics or leadership. A number of presenters have submitted proposals to lead these sessions. Look for details in the academic schedule.
• Lunch with SAS authors and senior attendees: Tuesday lunch will be a ‘table topic’ lunch with attendees like those suggested leading the discourse. Planned topics will be designed for those at each table to get to know each other and grow their network.
• SESUG documentary: We are seeking a volunteer to keep track of and report their total SESUG experience throughout the conference. Media components of this will be dependent upon the volunteer, but we think this is an exciting addition.
• Yoga: A great suggestion is the return of morning yoga! Charu Shankar from SAS will be leading yoga sessions both Monday and Tuesday mornings.

SESUG 2022 attendees will be given the opportunity to share ideas for future conferences, too. The SESUG 2023 chairs will be leading a Birds-of-a-Feather session to collect these ideas. I’m not sure if it will be a Think and Drink, but don’t see why not. We can’t wait to see you in Mobile - Join the Cruise!
