SAS Automation for Pragmatic Randomized Trials

The BedMed Frail study is currently enrolling patients to evaluate whether time of day blood pressure medications are taken in continuing care facilities impacts patient outcomes.

This talk will highlight several ways that SAS is utilized within Alberta Health Services to conduct the study including the following:

  • Identifying eligible residents
  • Connecting directly to a REDCap database
  • Storing data in Oracle
  • Randomization
  • Securely emailing randomization lists
  • Emailing summary results

Case Use for SAS Visual Investigator – Combating Guns and Gangs in Alberta with the Correctional Services Intelligence Unit

Exploring the use of SAS Visual Investigator and analytics  in the public safety sector including correctional settings and more.  On a daily basis members of the  Intelligence unit are conducting investigations to protect the people of Alberta and suppress crime.  With the assistance of SAS technology we are seeing drastic increases in officer efficiencies and less intelligence gaps tracking both gang and firearm crimes across the province.
