What is the interrelationship between the "batch submit" function in SAS Studio 3.5 and the "Timeout-interval" listed in Preferences.

Some of our end users have asked, If a job were to run (for example) 7 hours wall clock time and the Timeout-interval on SAS Studio was 6 hours, would they lose their results and have to start over?

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Hi,

Timeout only applies to the UI, ie if you submit a file and you see a busy indicator, and Studio times out before it completes you will need to resubmit it.

If you perform a background submit, it will continue to run even if a user signs out or the UI times out based on the time-out interval.

Bottom line: There is no relationship between background submit and the time-out interval.

Hope that helps.
