When I start typing, say,

proc print data=

I get a menu that suggests what to type. I love this because it not only gets me the code faster, but it also helps me learn new programming terms. BUT!

When I select one of these suggestions, my next key stroke is negated, so when I select the suggestion:

proc print data=work.customer_addresses

my next key press will have to be TWO semicolons.

This becomes a huge problem because whatever pops up, when I select it, makes the next key stroke unresponive, and when I'm flying across the keys, the strokes are missed. How can I fix this?

If you can isolate the issue to Firefox it might be worth raising it with SAS Support - I've always found them very responsive when I've raised issues with them.

How are you selecting a suggestion? Via tab/keyboard navigation or point and click. And are you hitting return after?

The text pops up, if it's on what I want I hit enter, then my next key press will do nothing.

If I use the arrow keys to select it and hit enter, the same thing happens.

Are you using EG or SAS Studio?

What browser are you using? I say this because there have been problems reported in the past with strange behaviour when using Chrome (I've experienced them myself although the latest version of UE seems fine). Try using a different one and see if you get the same issues.

I'm using Firefox, but I'll try it in Chrome.

Yeah, it looks like Firefox is having issues. That's too bad, I kinda like firefox.
