User of Ampersand & is giving error

Hi,

I am using "&"  in my code to dynamically use  USERID and PASSWORD , but it is giving error. It is working fine in few other codes, so not sure why i am getting this error whihle using it in userid

user="&USERID."
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference USERID not resolved.

Kindly help in this.

The log is very specific: the macro variable has not (yet) been set. From where do you expect to get it?

I am not pro in SAS but this code was working fine in someone else's machine but not on my .So not sure how to set the

macro variable .

Then, on someone else's machine there is something that sets the macro variable. Ask the one who gave you the program how to set it.
