Can Studio's maximum log size be adjusted, or set to unlimited?  PC SAS users moving to Studio would like to see even very long logs scrolled in Studio.

I brief check shows that the DMSLOGSIZE parameter can only be set at invocation. So would have to appear in the configuration file.

Personally have very little interest in perusing the default 99999 lines manually.

Its generally limited for a good reason, otherwise your computers resources for the SAS session might blow up!

If you really want massive logs written out, direct them to a file:

proc printto log="c:\mylogfile.txt";
run;

and afterwards

proc printto;
run;

However if you allow any size logs you will rapidly run out disk space.  Even vastly complicated programs should not be generating that much log output.

Yes, I understand the resource issue and why it is implemented this way.  Curious if the size can be increased.

It really is a case of PC SAS users getting used to and understanding why things work differently in Studio. Even though the max size to scroll in Studio is reached, the user can still open the log using the link.

  It'd be nice to be able to adjust the max log size, but with warnings to the admins that it could cause the browser to crash.

Agreed.  I think the user is raising this as an "issue" for two reasons.

1. It's different than how PC SAS behaves

2. They like seeing the log scroll by so that they know their program is still running

I've advised the user that this is just the way Studio operates and why.  Change is hard for some.
