Hi - When I import data into SAS Viya using the manage data tab, this data is not immediately available within the file structures in 'Develop code' tab, is there a libname statement required to access this data? I am able to view data in sas studio which has been imported in SAS drive.

Hi!

When you import data using VA it will be loaded into memory.

To be able to use this in studio you will need to create a CAS session and define a libname.

Something like this:

cas mysession;

libname mylib cas caslib=casuser;  (or whatever cas libname you loaded the data into 🙂 )

You should be able to see the libname in studio.

Is this the same when it is loaded into manage date rather than VA?

When you import the data using Manage Data module, you have to click the Thunderbolt icon(somewhere in the upper right corner) to load the data into the memory.
