Type | Frequency | Percent | Cumulative | Cumulative |
NM | 63 | 46.67 | 63 | 46.67 |
NP | 51 | 37.78 | 114 | 84.44 |
NPRE | 1 | 0.74 | 115 | 85.19 |
NS | 10 | 7.41 | 125 | 92.59 |
PRE | 3 | 2.22 | 128 | 94.81 |
PRESERVE | 4 | 2.96 | 132 | 97.78 |
RIVERWAYS | 1 | 0.74 | 133 | 98.52 |
RVR | 2 | 1.48 | 135 | 100.00 |
For level 2 practice of lesson 3, I generated the table above by proc freq. The answer is that NPRE, PRESERVE, and RIVERWAYS are invalid values for Type. I do not understand why. Has anyone worked on the relevant codes?
Hi:
Please read the question again. At the top of the question, we give you a list of what the valid values are. The student's job is to run the PROC FREQ and manually, visually compare the output from THEIR PROC FREQ to the valid table listed at the top of the question. In the "real" world, the programmer or analyst would have documentation that told them what the valid values were supposed to be. That is what this question is trying to do. We TELL you at the top of that question what values are valid. Look at the table, as shown below:
In the table at the top, TYPE only has 5 valid values. When you run the PROC FREQ and you visually compare YOUR output to the list of valid values, which we provide for you, you should be able to see the invalid values to answer the question.

Also, in the future, if you have questions about the Programming 1 and Programming 2 classes, we have a Forum specifically for those 2 classes: https://communities.sas.com/t5/Programming-1-and-2/bd-p/course_discussions and our instructors monitor the forum to help students with questions like this that are specific to the course content. It would be better for you to post questions about the training in the forum designed for that purpose.
