I'm new to SAS Studio, using it for the first time, to parallelize a macro I have written. But that's not where my problem lies.
My problem is that after the program runs, I need to view the LOG. Is there really no equivalent of Ctrl-F to search the LOG window for specific text? When I hit Ctrl-F, I get the web browser (Internet Explorer) find window, which is rather limited compared to what I am used to in the LOG window on PC SAS.
Next problem: on PC SAS, which I have used for centuries beginning when I was named emperor of Constantinople in 1204, if I scroll down to the bottom of any window, and then want to jump quickly to the top of that window, I hit Ctrl-Home on my PC keyboard. It seems as if the only way to scroll up to the top of the LOG window in SAS studio is to actually grab the mouse and press on the scroll bar on the right and scroll up to the top, or hit the Page Up button and hold it down until I am at the top of the window. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will do this in the LOG window? By the way, that keyboard shortcut works in the Program window on SAS Studio for me.
Hi Paige - I wonder if some of your issues are caused by using Internet Explorer as I believe the recommended browser for SAS Studio is Chrome with Firefox also supported.
The keyboard shortcuts for SAS Studio are listed here -> https://support.sas.com/software/products/university-edition/faq/SASStudio_keyboardshortcuts.pdf and you'll see that the shortcut for opening a Find Window is still CTRL-F and for moving to the top of a document CTRL-HOME.
I'm running SAS Studio on a Mac and the Mac equivalents (CMD-F and CMD-Up Arrow) both work for me when running on Chrome.
I can't claim to have been using SAS since the days of the Byzantine Empire but I do miss the Keys statement which allowed you to create your own shortcuts.....
So, this would imply that I should try Chrome, but I have previously tried it, and I never got SAS Studio load. I logged in, I got the spinning circles, and never got past that. I suppose that's a different problem, I don't know if that's the setup created by my IT department, or if something else is wrong. So I will ask around.
If you've had an issue with SAS Studio in the past you may need to clear Chrome's cache before it'll work again - I had a similar issue a while ago and clearing the cache sorted it.
Thanks @Cynthia_sas I'd forgotten about that except I think that was the time I mentioned when I had to clear the cache before the fixed version would work!

Also, there was a version of Chrome that did not work with SAS Studio.
@Cynthia_sas: What version number was that? I do not have the ability here to download the latest and greatest version of Chrome, the software we can install is tightly controlled by IT. I am running 71.0.3578.98.
It was v67; see this post for more details: https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Studio/SAS-Studio-Status-check-stuck-in-Initializing-after-click-....
I'm running the same version as you (71.0.3578.98) and I am not experiencing issues with loading SAS Studio. Did you try the suggestion from @ChrisBrooks (clearing your cache)? Another idea would be to try loading SAS Studio while using Chrome's incognito mode.

I'm not sure how to clean the cache, as I'm not all that familiar with Chrome.
I did find a menu command "Clear Browsing Data". Is that what how to do it?
Yes, if you click on that, it will open a menu where you will have the option to determine what types of browsing data you would like to clear (such as your history, downloads, cookies, cached images/files, etc.). Usage Note 59217 recommends that you clear both "Cookies and other site and plugin data" and "Cached images and files."
Clearing the cache didn't help. Using the Incognito Window doesn't help.
I'm not sure what's going on, then. My recollection was that the problem was confined to v67 of Chrome, but Problem Note 62389 says it can be an issue with version 67 or above. That Problem Note contains a link to a hot fix to address the issue, or the other workaround is to use a different browser like you have been.
Have you tried Edge or Firefox? I am able to successfully use the Ctrl+Home (Ctrl+End) shortcut to jump to the top (bottom) of the log in both of those browsers. I can also use Ctrl+F to search the log, but it still might not have all of the functionality you are looking for. What search functionality are you missing?
I am awaiting the hot fix to be installed.
Good news: We've extended SAS Hackathon registration until Sept. 12, so you still have time to be part of our biggest event yet – our five-year anniversary!
