Hello,
I'm trying to use the online SODA version and the cloud based SAS Studio that belongs to SODA but the program gets stuck when I try to open a table. A message box keeps saying 'Opening a table' and it goes on an on but nothing happens.
First I tried to use the dowloaded version via VirtualboxVM on my MacBook but the same thing happened. The program gets stuck and I also can't make changes in the program anymore, therefore I also can't cancel the opening of the program. Shutting down all programs and windows doesn't help, using Firefox in stead of Safari or Chrome also doesn't help.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Did somebody else experience this problem? Technical support couldn't find a solution, I did find multiple threads about similar problems but the solutions given there also don't work.
Kindest regards,
Charlotte
@Charlotte22 which table name for what SAS course are you trying to open?
You might need to run the libname statement again even if the SAS datasets are in the panel to the left SAS might not really see them so running the libname statement to assign the library again may assist.
The whole screen seems unreachable, I just can't click on anything. So I can't open the syntax part. It also seems impossible to close the opening table.
I don't know how to solve that in SODA but for SAS UE, you can find the file it's trying to open - you likely have it saved in a library somewhere and delete it and restart the VM.
If it's in the work library you pretty much have to delete the VM and re-import it. However, if this is happening in both applications, something is wrong in your code or data to cause this as well. How big is the data set? You're not trying to view a 20 million record data set in the viewer?

I think I'm on my way to a solution. Apparently there is an option to clear saved tabs and that solved some of the issues. I regained acces to the program so it stopped getting stuck and I'm able to start again.
Now I'm only still struggling with setting up the libname, at the university I used a different program and the way the libname is assigned seemed to differ. But that should be something I can figure out myself 🙂
Forgot to say, as a student I practice on rather small datasets the university uses for educational purposes. So that was not the problem.
Thanks for you help!
