Dear SAS community,

I am using SAS University Edition / SAS Studio.

After I installed the system to Win 10, I realized that copy SAS codes does not work anymore, no matter I use Firefox or Edge explorer. I have tried "copy  code" icon, and tried  Copy option when codes were selected, both actions copied nothing and pasting codes to other program such as Word was therefore not working.

Copying texts from normal webpage works totally fine. Although I checked the settings of my explorer, Word and SAS studio, I could not find out reasons why copy in SAS studio did not work. I used to documenting results with syntax highlighted codes in win 7 and had no problem at that time.

Could anyone suggest the potential solutions? Many thanks!

How are you trying to copy/paste? There's one way that works and one that doesn't and I don't remember which is which. There are two/three ways, CTRL+C/V or Right click, copy/paste or Edit>Copy/Paste.

Try all three methods, one does work in SAS studio.

@Reeza

Thanks for your reply! Ctrl+C/V does work, it pastes codes as plain text (no syntax highlighted). Another two options in SAS studio, namely "Copy / paste code" and copy option on right click work only within SAS studio, not in other programs.

Does the code run?

@Reeza

Yes, running codes in SAS UE Studio is totally fine. This problem does not affect the usage of SAS studio, but I missed the nice feature of copy / paste codes with syntax highlighting in documentation.

Usually clicking anywhere and adding space and deleting it will cause it to highlight correctly.

Did you check your Virtual Box settings, you must have bidirectional.

@SuryaKiran

Thanks for your solution!

I checked my VM and those two options were disabled. However, it still does not work after I changed the setting to Bidirectional. I just noticed there was differentiation between system clipboard and SAS studio clipboard, because pasting within SAS studio using different method gave different results. Could be the problem from my system setting?
